Doesn't it seem that everytime you turn around, someone is claiming to be offended by what someone else said or did? It wasn't always like this but it was prophesied in the the Book of Matthew, The Holy Bible, KJV.

Mat 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
Mat 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

Read the entire book for a better understanding. And for those that do not believe and will comment... you are not required to believe, yet.

Here's a brief rundown on how being "offended" became so popular.

At some point in the not-too-distant past; the 1970's, advertisers were made aware that if their commercials offended certain groups; feminists, minorities, etc, those groups would excercise the option to boycott the products advertised. It became very important to avoid offending people.

People then began to associate being offended with having power, and having power with being right, to the extent that people expect now that if they are offended, the entire world should alter its behavior to accomodate them.

It never occurs to people that being offended is merely the result of having expectations that are unfulfilled.

Here's another interesting point about the end of the world:

I'm greatly insulted that you would insinuate such a thing and I demand an apology immediately!

Because we have become a population of lawsuit-happy nothing-is-my-fault I-have-my-civil-rights, the-hell-with-yours selfish whiners here in the United States of the Offended.

Heh, because everyone has become sensitive. Of course the Bible really IS interpreted many times, but as long as one has love for the Lord it really shouldn't matter any which way...

The liberal media tells people to be offended. Also - people who are offended by others are rewarded (lawsuits, publicity, etc...)

I hope that Army fella doesn't apologize for his remark the other day. Anne Coulter didn't.

I'm offended you refer to the bible for this. It doesn't take biblical stories, Nostradamus or rocket scientist to figure out people have different opinions...or perhaps I too am some sort of genious or visionary since I figured it out on my own.

People are being too mislead. Parents these days are not raising their children with the same values and morals they had.
