What does the display say when it goes off?? Tamper/Fault/ Alarm/PA ????? Surely it's not a full alarm if in day setting? Is it not just an internal sounder, indicating a tamper fault? What type of panel is it?

This might sound a bit simple, but have your alarm specialist (or whatever they call themselves) come by and take a look at it. a wire may have fallen loose if something has hit the keypad quite possibly causing a fault throughout the entire system of the house. Or, bad news, you might have something crawling around in you walls, like a mouse, chewing the wire if it has not already electrocuted itself.

I see someone else mentioned spiders. We have had them crawl into a sensor and straddle the contacts setting off the alarm. The little blighters can cause quite a problem. The one we had cleared a nursing home of 200 residents, closed every fire door, set off the alarms and got 3 fire engines on the doorstep all in space of 7 minutes.

it sounds like a wiring fault, maybe a mouse or something has chewed through a wire? It happened to us with squirrels!
