Jackie Robinson was born Jan.21,1919 in Cairo Georgia.He was an African-American. He was one of 5 children His father abandoned the family, His mother moved them . He lived in proverty and joined a neighborhood gang. A friend talked him into abandoning the gang. He was active in may sports and attend many schools and colleges. He joined the Dodgers in 1940 and broke the baseball color line. He made many achivements in sports. He died October 24 1972 in Stamford,Conn.
