Divorce always comes at a cost. Sorry, you won't get away with no pain, anger, or regrets. If you've really wanted a divorce for 2 years you could have socked away $50 a month. That could have paid for your divorce.

If you are waiting for a free divorce you will never get divorced. Legal aid focuses most of its resources on helping people who have problems with just living. "Cheap" divorce lawyers are out there if you look.

My divorce was a $26.00 court filing fee. I live in Texas.
I went to my local courthouse, in the library of said courthouse they have a divorce packet. I fondly referred to it as "Divorce for Dummies". It had all the legal documentation and process spelled out.
Mine was a divorce with plenty of compromise, if you can do that between the two of you... research at your local courthouse.

There's really now way but if you can reconcile without much dispute you could just do it yourselfs without any lawyers. If there is alot of $ and a house to sell etc you will need the lawyers but you can then settle with a mediator instead of going to court which will save you lots of $$.
