I'm with the others. Really liked the first part of the Anita Blake series, but once Anita was "infected" the plots fizzled and I'm not even sure I like her anymore - especially after how she treats Dolph (and he her). Sure, sex can be part of a story, but it is THE storyline in later books and even then, it's not that exciting - boring.
I had someone recommend to me Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series, and I've been pleased so far (3 of them). Dark Hunters are immortals with no souls, and they are here to protect humans from Daimons (vampires) and other creatures. So far, the ones I've read have focused on one Dark Hunter (or someone else that gets involved with them) - they've been love/romances and they haven't been boring.
I haven't tried any other Laurell Hamilton books (like the Gentry series.) I've read they start out being pretty much soft porn or erotica, so you aren't as taken aback - you know what you're getting into. Thing is, when you first meet Anita Blake she's a tough petite thing who has been hurt, so she refrains from sexual contact even with her werewolf boyfriend. Later on down the road it's all about who she'll jump in bed with next. I like some plot.

At first, they were good. But now she is turning into an Ann Rice clone. The stories are just running on and on and not too much is being resolved. Try Tanya Huff or Jim Butcher's Dresden Files. The books, of course are better than the TV series(but the TV series is pretty good).

I've read her Anita Blake series and I liked the books in the beginning of that series but the more recent ones have gotten worse and worse, too much sex and not enough interesting plot and interesting characters like the earlier books had.
If you are interested in books like her Anita Blake series, I suggest reading Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan series, Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden series, or Carrie Vaughn's Kitty Norville series instead.
