No Lionheads are officially recognized by the ARBA. They failed their second showing at the ARBA Convention in 2006, which means they aren't under a working standard any more. Any breed that isn't under a working standard doesn't have to be accepted for entry by a show. Some shows, particularly in the Midwest, state in their catalogs that no breed that is not under a working standard will be accepted for entry.

If the entry is accepted, they will be judged by one of the show judges. You will need to provide a copy of the Lionhead standard AND the standard for each color you show. The show and/or judge can refuse to judge your entry if you don't have this paperwork. The rabbits will be placed and comments will be given by the judge, but they aren't eligible for any legs and can't compete for Best in Show. They're "exhibition only" at this point.

In the best case, they won't be eligible to show as a recognized breed until February 2010.

I know that sounds dismal, but there is a pretty good sized group of dedicated Lionhead breeders who go to shows regularly and exhibit. If you're really passionate about the breed, go ahead. If you're looking for something you can show as a recognized breed, I'd choose something else.

The Lionhead is a relatively new breed. According to their website the ARBA does not currently recognize this breed. Unfortunately it looks like you wouldn't be able to take your bunnies to an ARBA show.
