i've said this a couple times before in response to other questions, but it is the universal truth about music.
as people, we need and desire connection with other people. if you listen closely to any music, you will come to see that the personality and feelings of the musician are very strongly reflected in the music. it's a language through which some people feel more comfortable communicating. when you listen to someone's music, you are seeing a very intimate piece of them and experiencing their emotions. it's like having an intimate conversation, which is a very emotional experience - just in a different and slightly cryptic language.
and then, sometimes you can simply be so overwhelmed by the beauty of someone's music that you get emotional. how amazing is it that people have the capacity to create such great things? that's the idea that usually gets me the most emotional when i listen to good music.

I think it is a primitive response which is not bad. It is just part of being a human being...and also it is not restricted to human beings as dog beings and other beings including primate beings respond significantly to music.

i was obssessed with this artist which is why i felt totally deep while listening to his songs....i think that if we listen to a particular song and if we're in the same situation as what being said in the song....then we feel deep.......

its the fact that it relates to you. it gets you into a mood, not always a good one though... like this morning i didnt feel like coming to work, and just wanted to bulge around all day, but i'm listening to Manà and i'm full of energies ^_^, just like if i'm to listen to Threshold, i would get all mad lol
