i heard this when i was younger and it made me become a much happier person. The things we worry about are often fruitless and we dont even notice the things we SHOULD worry about - so there is NO POINT in worrying as you are ultimately worrying about the wrong thing. what was the phrase which turned around the way you percieve the world??

"Don't meet trouble half way" is one of my favourite sayings. It has helped me relax and not worry about things that I can't change, or things that haven't happened yet.

Also "Be careful what you wish for, it may come true"!

This is not a joke answer. It was when the judge said to me " I'm sentencing you to two years in prison" My whole world changed and yes you're right, it made me stop worrying about silly little things in my life. I've been free now for 6 years and every day is a joy and I appreciate everything in my life. So stop worrying people and enjoy what you've got and be happy, I know I am. Just in case you were wondering it was for evasion of excise duty. Nothing too sinister.

Yes and no. Sometimes it is hard not to worry, even though after the event the problem ususally seems fruitless, at the time it is a problem. One has to be very easy going in order not to worry.

I can't remember if it was a science program or something my father said, but it certainly made me think differently about stuff.
Essentially the idea is that because we are so tiny on this planet, one in a billion people, one planet in a solar system, one solar system in a galaxy, one galaxy in our vast universe etc that are actions universally speaking are inconsequential. Nothing you do really matters and therefore that embarrassing thing that happened the other day or that girl that you're afraid to ask out aren't really as big as they feel because universally speaking it doesn't even make a mark.

I guess thinking about it, it's just a rephrasing of what you said.

My favorite saying is love have no end.

Sometimes we lose someone but even in the next world love follows. Recently lost a baby even though she is gone i still have reminders of her.

Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow is not yet known. All is left is today. I think we can handle the problems of today. It only becomes hard when we add yesterdays and tomorrows to our load.
