you have to adopt the mindset that you are doing it for your health, because you care about yourself, and because you care about your body. if you look in the mirror and say 'i hate my body this is gross you're fat blah blah blah', you are going to continually be disappointed with the results and not motivated to continue. it's all about patience and acceptance of your body. you're alive, you're healthy, isn't that something to be thankful for? lose the weight because you love your body and you want to treat it well. that is the only way you will be successful.

First of all, you needn't beat yourself up over your weight. That will make it even harder to begin the process of changing your habits.

After my second child was born, I was so tired all the time that I got out of my exercise routine. I realized it just in time, though, and I started walking first, then running again.

If you are serious about it and you AREN'T doing it for someone else, then just start by doing the easy stuff first. Buy light margarine, sugar free sodas, fruit, flavored water if you don't enjoy the taste of water, and maybe start walking around the block after your evening meal.

Remember this: The weight you want to lose didn't spring up overnight, so it's gonna take a while to burn it off. Pace yourself, and don't be too hard on yourself if you cheat on your program. First, ♥ yourself and the rest will fall into place.

I don't think I can tell you a way to make the commitment, it is something you have to do for yourself. A way to motivate might be to find some other people; friends, family, coworkers, who also want to lose some weight and have a contest weighing in regualary to see who loses the most with a prize at the end. Find a friend to work out, one who will make you get up and do it even when you don't want to!

Why don't you try a circadian diet, it is an excellent way to loose weight, it is working for me. I have a book as guide it is called "ni una dieta mas" but as you can see it is in Spanish. You could find information on the internet. This diet is excellent, explains how you body and hormones act during the day and help you eat accordingly depending on the hours, so you can burn the pounds away. I highly recommended.

I know this might sound silly, but it really works: stop keeping food in the house. ESPECIALLY convenience food. The easier it is to get your hands on something to eat, the more likely you are to chow down just for the heck of it. If you have to prepare a meal or even better go out for it, you'd be amazed at how your motivations change.

I am in the same boat, I keep putting it off and saying, ok one of these days I will start a diet, and I never do. I want to lose 15 pounds, I don't need to but I would like to. There is not trick to it, you just have to push yourself to do it, it sucks I know!

Find something that sounds fun. I recently started swimming. Not doing laps just going to the pool at night and having fun. It's good exercise but in my head I'm just having a good time. Having someone go with you is always good advice too.

small things are the best
park far away from the entrance to the store or mall
walk up the stairs instead of elevator
do not walk right to the coffee isle if you need coffee
walk on the outer limits of the store all the way around

it all adds up

don't be so hard on yourself and try not to think about it. I found if I didn't worry so much and really didn't think about it the weight comes off faster. Don't obsess over it and don't weigh yourself constantly, just weigh yourself once a week, and if all else fails love yourself just the way you are!!
