Ok i am posting this question 2 times so i get more answers...
My name is sammi (girl) I get braces tomorrow and have to have them for 3-4 years... is it gonna hurt? What can i eat? what can i not eat? Will i be in pain forever? I go to Dr. Grace kurr (I dont know how to spell it but it sounds like krr) (short k and r sound) Please help me out!!! Thanyou so much! oh ya and i am almost 13 (if that helps)

Yes... the braces will be uncomfortable when initially put on and when adjusted
yes ...you will have to change your dietary habits while wearing the braces so you dont break the appliances
Yes... your age makes a difference.. adults wouldn't be so worried about something that is necessary and beyond their control
Be Thankful that your parents could financially invest in the physical future

I had braces from 11 to 16 which is a long time they dont hurt when they get put on its just that your lips and mouth will take some time to get used to the feeling, the'll give you orthodontic wax to take home so you can put it on any bits of metal that are rubbing against your lips/mouth to make it softer. The only part that hurts is when they tighten them every month or two months, but it's more of an inconvinience than anything. If they ever feel too tight tell the orthodontist and they might loosen em a bit for ya but thats how they get the teeth to move by tightenig. So you might want to take pain killer for first day or the days you get em tightened.

I hurts a lot for a week or so but you get used to them soon. Then you can pretty much eat anything except for the days you get them tightened.

I just got braces 3 days ago & they're hectic already. I can't chew and my teeth are sore when I brush them. Thank god I don't have to wear them for very long...
