A heater core is a small copper radiator, located in the heater box, behind the dashboard. When you turn on the heat, the coolant flows throw the heater core, making it hot. a fan blowing air over the heater core blows hot air through the ducts.
Cheers :-)

The heater core is what generates the heat inside your car when you turn your heater on. It is made much like the radiator that cools the engine with the exception the coolant fan for the radiator blows the hot air outside of the vehicle while the heater fan blows the warm air into the inside of the vehicle. IF the heater core is leaking it will do several things according to the severity of the leak. The first thing you'll notice is the smell of antifreeze inside the car as the leak will start out as a seep. Your windows may fog up inside with a blueish tint caused by the antifreeze in the cooling system. You see, the heater core collects hot coolant from the vehicle's cooling system. They haven't designed a heater core that uses electricity - that I know of. As the leak gets bigger you will notice coolant (water and antifreeze) collecting in the passenger floorboard of your vehicle. No doubt this will ruin the carpet. If left unfixed the moisture could cause some electrical problems later on. You should have it fixed as soon as possible. If you haven't the money to get it fixed right away, contact me and I will tell you how to solve the leak during the summer months. If you need any further assistance you can contact me by clicking my icon. Good luck.

It's like a radiator. Water from the cooling system circulates through it when you turn the heater on. A fan blows through the fins in the "core" and it warms the interior of your vehicle.

It is like a small radiator that is usually located under the dash. Coolant from the engine flows through it and gives off heat. Air is then blown through it by the blower motor (fan) to produce heat for the interior of your car

It is like a radiator for heat. The hot water runs Thu it, and when you turn on the blower hot air comes out.
