First off, because it's such a widespread threat, it doesn't touch "home" for many people. As if "oh, it's only happening somewhere else, not here, not to me"... so they don't give it much thought.
Secondly, because if the few true doomsayers are right... it's a HUGE threat, and no one wants to believe that there's a disaster looming of world proportions. Humankind finds it easier to scoff at what we're afraid of, than to confront it.
Lastly.... because once the threat is acknowledged, the hunt for solutions begins. And the solutions likely involve a drastic lifestyle change for the world population... no one wants to think about those sorts of things either.
Think about the cartoon ostrich, burying its head in the sand to avoid the hunter. The hunter is still right there, but the ostrich fools itself into feeling safe.

Most scientists believe in global warming. It's the politicians who refuse to see the reality.

Because the evidence shows that the earth has only warmed 0.4-0.6 degrees in the last 30 years, and most of that increase is only evident in the winter months.
Moreover, an increase of temps worldwide would actually be beneficial to humans, as the increased temp would also aid to increase growing seasons and therefore increase crop yield.
If you were to read several magazines from the 1970s, you would find that scientists feared we were entering another Ice age.

It could be true. The system really is self-regulating and if you try to change something (i.e. the CO2 amount) it responds by absorbing it and coming back to normal. If the action is too strong, then the system can no more come back to its normal state and is doomed. The question is how strong we act against the system and if it is still coming back to normal or not. The fact is we do not know yet the real answer and neither do scientists.

Because the idea that it is, is just a political threat that left-wing environmental groups use to attempt to blackmail us into doing as they would wish. These are largely flat-earth groups who overlook the fact that if the government implemented all the changes they want, THEY would be affected by them too. They want the bad ol' conservatives to live like they want, but they don't want to do it themselves, and are hoping as few people as possible catch them out on that fact.

The Earth alterations temperature all the time. human beings are not doing it. climate scientists in no way assume something spectacular. (once you're sufficiently old, you bear in concepts the international cooling scare during the Nineteen Seventies)

It is truth, it takes time in order to become a nasty problem, that in my opinion once enters a certain stage, there is no going back... i dont know how could it be possible fixed once it becomes a major problem...
also there are a lot of oil industries and the united states as major consumer of oil in the world, who dont think its a major problem, you go and figure it out...

Because they don't seem to have much alse to do in justifying their massive remuneration packages, other that by making controversial and, at times, highly conflicting statements - be wise, ignore most of what they profess.
