he is known as leading the revolt for independence of the majority of South America which was achieved in 1823 from Spain. He is known as the "George Washington" of South America

At leading a bunch of conquisitdors demanding their independence from Spain. Personally, I think it should have been led by an Indian demanding independence from Simon Bolivaar. (Minus the conquistidors.)
