Why aren't you taking your child to a dr for medical issues? You should have your child evaluated by a qualified pediatrician.

I think it's probably a comfort thing. Some babies bang their head on the floor or pull their hair. It usually happens when they are over tired. My daughter pulls her hair. She started at about 7 months. Try putting your child to bed 15 minutes earlier and see if that helps! My daughter still does it at 15 months if she's too tired or had a busy day.

You might have a look at your baby's head. There is always the possibility that there might be some sort of creepy crawly on the floor that was brought in by the dog accidentally.
You might want to spray the baby's crib with a disinfectant to make sure that there are no germs on the mattress or in the blankets.

Does it look like there could be some dry skin starting there? i know my 5 month old does it with the back of his head all the time to scratch it.
Eczema does itch worse at night too! I would call your pediatrician and ask their opinion anyway, but I'm sure it is nothing major!

Take her to the doctor and describe what she does to the doctor. I used to babysit a child who would get on all fours and rock - hitting her head on the headboard of the crib. She did this right before she went to sleep and also sometimes in her sleep. It was the strangest thing to see her do it because you fear she is hurting herself but she was okay. We placed padding on the headboard so she would not hurt herself.
Take your child to a doctor and get a good medical opinion.

My sister was worried about my niece because she was always pulling at her ear, it turned out it was just something she did when she was tired like sucking her thumb and playing with her hair. If your little one isnt unhappy, crying, hasnt a temp and is generally ok i would think this is all it is. Children do odd things when they are tired!

It might just feel neat to your baby. Kind of like when someone cuts their hair off to a buzz cut everyone else wants to pet their head because it feels different and neat. Your description really sounds like she is just playing.

Seems to me she's tired and fighting it.
Kids of all ages will try to stay awake until their body gives in.
