Anyone had bad experience in Honolulu dinning? I had a bad time in a couple asian restaurants, they're pricey, unauthentic, poor service in a word, rip-off!

Oh, the so-called miso soup was just the sea water from Waikiki Beach…

i just came back from hawaii and you are right about restraunts being really expensive. i noticed that being downtown in the heart of waikiki things are almost double the prices of what a normal restraunt would cost. i ended up at dukes restraunt and i found the food not good and a bit greasy. the salad bar was not really that fresh and the bar wasn't that good. i could taste the fruit more than alcohol in it. i pretty much paid for the view of the beach.

in case you have a replica of the bill and the credit card receipt, deliver it returned to the eating place and confer with the administrative. If no longer, using fact it become so cutting-edge, they'd nonetheless have a replica of each little thing and would go over the products of your order. possibly you have been charged dinner fees particularly of lunch fees. you may get a reimbursement or a latest card to the eating place. don't get irate and initiate off yelling or slinging insults. only communicate in a actual looking way. the administrative would be extra receptive and in case you ever go there returned, there heavily isn't any awkwardness. And next time, no remember the place you go, seem on the bill in the past you pay. this is the eating places fault for making a mistake, even though it could have been caught in the adventure that your mothers and dads purely appeared on the bill.

I lived in Honolulu years ago and even back then the prices were high. It's just part of living on an island thousands of miles from distribution sites. Our one bedroom condo (20 years ago) was over $800 a month. One suggestion though... don't go to the tourist places to eat. Ask a local where they eat. The decor might not be the best, but the food is cheaper and tastes good.

Duke's Canoe club. It's really big and loud and popular. Huge salad bar. Only semi-expensive, but I think it's awful. The salad was not fresh, the fish was tough.
However, I highly recommend Sam Choy's Diamond Head, more expensive but exquisite!

Yeah I ate at a Japanese Place and got really sick..low quality food...in any flooded tourist town you will find people jacking up prices and cutting costs to make a profit off the constant flow of tourists. Its not that great anymore.

well Hawaii is expensive anyways, you should had thought of that before going.
When I went there I ate in a place near the Sheraton Princess, it was not very expensive, the personnel was very friendly and the always welcome us with a big smile. I ate lunch there the whole week, for the other meals we just went to fast food chains, that way we save $$ to be able to paaarty !!
