Showing your love, affection and sincerity to your country is not an easy task. You are shy with your own sentiments and fundamentals. You are afraid of loosing your self esteem or identity. You are not comfortable while expressing your views or your loyalty. Your Girl/Boy friend is more than yours country is. Few of us feel proud and of their status about their G/B - F. But when it is about the country they hardly utter a single word.

Patriotism is love for one's country. There's nothing like more or less in love. The ways of expression maybe different, but the quantum of the feelingdss are the same.

Indians have shown there patriotism in a lot of occasions. They united forgeting all their differences to boost the morales of their soldiers during the kargil war, the unite to help out the victims of natural disasters like - floods, ewarthquakes, tsunami, etc. They stood united and recovered from series of terrorist attacks.

You are comparing patriotism with one's lifestyle. Don't tell me that all the citizens of US give up their personal lives for their country. Don't they themsdelves consider their own sentiments? Why do you think when an Indian considers his/hers sentiments, he/she is she is unpatriotic? What made yo ufeel that they are loosing their identity? What's the identity of a citizen of US? And what's wrong in being proud of one's partner? How does that imply that he/she is not patriotic towards his/her country?

About uttering words, patriotism is not about words, it's about deeds. And Indians have always shown traces of patriotism with their deeds. Else India would have been under such huge developmental transition.

All the best....

:-)

Point of view varies from person to person.
Do you know enough about Americans to compare them with Indians?
Listen friend, people in India are just as patriotic as the people elsewhere and the Americans are oblivious too. Thus, the comparison stands unfair.

I think that indians are patriotic just like all people of the world are for their motherland. but in terms of showing that patriotic feeling, i think american citizens are more the showy type. I think that they have become more showy after the 9/11 attacks. They have flags everywhere and american pride, sometimes too much. In india, we hardly see flags and such. But people are proud to be indian. you dont have to show it all the time to love your country. i love and am proud to be indian and i do show it sometimes but not 24/7.
I also that in India, people will do less for their country than for themselves. Like in America people want their country to be and stay number one. They want their country to be better for all. In India people don't have that feeling as much. They think bad of the country(like india is this and that) but they dont do much to make it better.
Also india and the U.S. are two totally different countries. different cultures and all. so that has to factor in as well.
