It's not customary, nor it's common for local to give tips. As most of the bill include 10% service charge in places like restaurant and hotel. But personally, I do still feel tip should be given is you feel the service provided is great. Giving tip to cab drivers and hotel staff is all voluntory.

In Spore, there is not a customary to Tip cab driver as we ALL go by "meter".
As for the Hotel, you may give about $2 to 4 if the bell boy help you to carry yr heavy bags to yr room or you called for room services, but usually don't do it at the restaurant or etc as there is already 10% service charge when you pay the bill.

Cab drivers depend upon tips for their income. You should tip them as you would a waiter, 15 to 20% of the fare. In a hotel I usually leave between 3 and 5 dollars per night for the cleaning staff. The rest of the staff is generally taken care of by their salaries. If the Bellman carries your bag you should tip $2 per bag.

tipping is not very common or expected in Singapore. for example, most restaurants include a 10% service charge in their bills. if you want to tip a taxi driver, the usual is 10 - 20% of the total fare. while tipping of hotel staff is usually not required, the standard is S$2 per luggage for the bellboy and around $5 for the others.
just note that you're not obliged to tip in Singapore though it'd be very generous of you to do so.

in singapore.. we dont practise REGULAR TIPPING unlike in countries like USA. cos when we dine in restaurants..service charge of 10% is included in the bills. however, tipping to cab drivers n hotel staff is at ur own discreet. if they feel that their service is good... go ahead and tip them. approximately $2-$5 would b sufficient. as a local residence in spore, we rarely/never tip cab drivers. hotel staff ... perhaps only to room services , the person who help u carry luggage..etc.

If a tip has already been included in the bill, I will leave an additional tip if the service had been exceptionally good. Usually, I do not tip cab drivers unless service was great!

tipping is not mandatory as there is already a 10% service charge on your bills. However, if the service is really commendable, you can tip on any amount you deem fit.
