Bin Laden was supplied training, arms, and cash by the U.S. government in the 70's in his fight in Afghanastan. Obviously, the U.S. trained him well! When will we say enough is enough and stop meddling in others violent affairs?

You are correct. We supplied and trained not only OBL but other bad guys around the world. The object of which was to counter the Soviet Union. Now that they are no longer in existance the bad guys are focusing on us.
It is like in Nicaragua where we backed the Contradora over the Sandinistas whom we identified as having Communist links or may have actually been leftist in nature. That nearly got President Reagan impeached for an arms deal including them.
Some how people responding seem to think you are picking on the Republicans. They need to realize that this kind of thing went on in Democratic Administrations too.

Never. You have toi realize this though, back when they armed Bin Laden, they were trying to do good, not harm. It may have been a mistake but whats worse, trying to do good, and eventually causing harm, or not trying to help anyone at all? You can call it meddling but most of the time we just want to stick up for those innocent people who are being killed. Yes the event of 9/11 were extrememly tragic, and perhaps things would have been different had we not armed Bin Laden so long ago, but no one can say that for sure, if it had not been us it surely would have been someone else. Dont blame the republicans just because you dont like them, it wasnt just one party. Just like now everyone blames them for Iraq, well I hate to break it to you but your party voted for war too, and dont give me that BS about it being based on a lie.

Question 2. No, you can't have it both way. We armed and trained the during the cold war so they could repeal The USSR. Should we sit by a watch as weaker nonviolent countries get over thrown by our enemies? I don't think so.

Obviously you aren't much into history. Either that or you have no idea of what the Soviet Union was about. Also, Bin Laden refused all aid from the US. He had enough money of his own, so he waged his own war.
