I used to clean houses when my son was in preschool. A typical 3 bedroom house (has to picked up!) can be anywhere from $50 - 80 per visit. If the house is really dirty to begin with, you need to charge a one time fee to get it up to par. That can be closer to $100- $150 depending on the level. Once it's up to par all you need to do is "maintain" it on an every other week basis and you could probably charge $65. I am in Chicago suburbs and pay my cleaning lady $65. It's always very picked up and organized but boy those kitchen floors are hairy and grassy etc. from the dog.
It all depends on the home.

You want to have rates that are similar to other people doing that in your area. You don't want to end up charging double what another service would charge, you'll end up with no customers. But it would be good if your prices are just a little better than your competitions'.
So act like you want to get your house done, and call some of the other maids/housekeeper's in your area who would come to your home and clean it. They'll hopefully give you an estimate over the phone. Act like you don't have time for an at home consultation. Let them know you're calling a few places and just want a general idea. Then you can get an idea of what you should charge. Try charging a few dollar's less than them, you may get more customers that way and you can advertise for being more affordable.
Saying something like you have the lowest prices guarenteed or you'll clean their home for 1/2 price one time, or you'll match the price they found cheaper.
You've got your homework cut out for you, because i'm sure general cleaning like just dusting, vacuuming, mopping is a different price than spring-type cleaning. Cleaning out tubs, stives, refrigerators, etc. would be more $$$$.

Here in NC, the going rate is about $7-$10. I did this for a living in NY and I "interviewed " the job as for how much cleaning, ( one home had 3 teens and I was expected to dig thru the rooms - do laundry and put all there stuff away) so I charge more for those homes. How cluttered is it? take all this into consideration. Go to your local "hire a maid" service and see what they charge a client. That should help

I live in CA and charge $45 for each service. Can do it as quickly as an hour or can take up to 2 1/2 hours, depending on how detailed I want to get. Just do the basics, no dishes, no laundry, no making beds

Many cleaners have one price for the first time and another price for subsequent cleanings within a period of time. This promotes repeat business.
It should be a fixed price service based on the number of rooms to be cleaned, not hourly. You want to make your money and get out of there.
You should have a written contract that covers the service. What's included, what's extra, etc.
You will need to consider liability and bonding. Breakage, theft, damage. Specific exclusions should be noted. If the homeowner has something that you cannot risk breaking, they need to put it away.

perchance your costs ought to be based on the condition and length of the abode. perchance your customers do no longer ought to pay administration costs purely the hidden costs on your centers. you need to fee for cleansing centers by employing the hour. The formulation to estimate what share hours are mandatory to scrub a house incorporates the sq. pictures, form of occupants, pets, cutting-edge condition, and the provider asked (user-friendly cleansing, deep cleansing or shopper determination cleansing.) once you supply a cleansing fee estimate, enable for sufficient time to end each and each activity satisfactorily. understand that it will take longer to scrub a house which has no longer been frequently maintained, or a house which has 3 pets, 4 infants and a working mom, then a similar length abode of a meticulous retired couple who choose user-friendly upkeep cleanings.

Probably about $50. But you could call around to the places like Merry Maids, and other maid services to see what they charge. And then charge about $10 less than they do.

Call up some house cleaning services in your area and ask them how much they charge and use that as an idea.

Most here in MT get $10 to $12 per hour, but that is probably low as most of our wages are low.
