Maybe you should spend more time obeying the law instead of goofing off in stores and vandalizing things. You deserve whatever you get.

Nice friends. They involve you in a crime without your knowledge? If it was a more serious crime, you could be in serious trouble. Even if you weren't convicted, the costs for defending yourself could be huge.
If you lie and don't give the cops information, you may be obstructing justice. If you cover it up, or assist your friends in covering it up, you become an accomplice.
In some states, for example, you are the driver of a car and your friend commits a robbery. The guy inside (your friend) murders the store owner. YOU are guilty of murder. Even though you didn't pull the trigger. Even though you were only the driver. Even if you didn't know.
You need to find new friends or decide prison is the good life.

the cops will tell you anything to get the answers they want. PERIOD! they will promise you the world to get their info. They are in the business of stopping crime and catching criminals, and they dont care how they do it. Their belief is that someone broke the law, and they dont care what it takes to catch someone. GET A LAWYER!!! DONT SAY ANYTHING!!! your rights are there to protect you, USE THEM! (ps im not bashing cops out there, im just sayin it HAPPENS)

tell him to fess up, ok it wont be pleasant but cant help thinking it will escalate into something it neednt be if they have to go looking for him, he will probably get a verbal warning if he has no prior, hope he learns that consequences are inevitable from one moment of stupidity

the worst thing that could happen is that u would probly lose a friend but if he goes in first and tells them the TRUTH then they could let him off or just give him a ticket
