I am looking for advice on how to minimize the pooch that is left after a C-section! It has been nearly 2 years since my c-section and the scar is quite dark and I have a tiny pooch. Will I ever get back my flat tummy that I had prior to my pregnancy?

Sweetie, it has been 11 years since my C-section and I never did get rid of the pooch entirely. I guess a lot of exercise to try to tighten up the tummy muscles would help. I still have stretch marks!!!

I had a c-section about three years ago and I still have the pooch. I am 39 weeks pregnant too and the pooch is still there. I know that should weird but there is that extra pooch at the bottom of my belly even being pregnant so I really hate to see it after I have another c-section. But I didn't so the exercises that they told me to do after my last one and I will be doing them religiously after this one because I hope to lose it as well. I plan on getting back in shape after this baby is born so hopefully working out and doing alot of the exercises that they tell you to do will help.

I still have a pooch. I have had 4 c-sections and being cut up and down instead of the bikini cut, my muscles are shot. I don't know if I ever will have a flat stomach and my last c-section was 6 yrs ago. Try muscle toning exercises and if you still have to lose some of the pregnancy weight, find a good eating plan to help you.

The scar will probably fade over time, but the pooch may never, without plastic surgary. The pooch may just be skin not fat. I had a scar from a similar surgary and ten years later, I had a c-section and I not sure if the cut was made in the same place or if my origanal surgary scar has faded that much.

It's not the c-section that gives the poochiness, it's your stretched out belly muscles and skin. The incision is just a line through all of the blown out muscles and skin.

There is no way to know how your skin and muscles will respond until months after your delivery. Either your muscles will recover, shrink back up and respond to exercise or you'll have to have a tummy tuck in which they cut out a piece of the slack muscles and fix the loose skin.

You can't blame your c-section incision for the pooch, having a BABY stretches your stomach muscles and skin.

I was born through a C-section and to this day (19 years later) my mom still has the pooch - but that is because her muscles ripped a few days before birth (twins!) and then they were cut in the other direction - so it is imposible for hers to go away believe me she has worked on getting rid of it many a time - lot's of yoga in the early morning crunches, swimming etc.

you are lucky.
good luck and congrats on the toddler.

i'm still having it after 2 years. my sis's faded after 4 years, leaving only a slight thin line. i believe exercise is the solution to a flat tummy besides applying firming lotions/creams over it.
