Try reading anything by the greatest thriller writer on the planet today(in my humble opinion), Matthew Reilly. Ice Station takes off from the second or third paragraph and continues throughout the whole book. They are making a movie of Ice Station starring George Clooney who is a big fan of Mr. Reilly's. Also try his book TEMPLE, great read. Or James Rollins' AMAZONIA which is another well-written thriller.

for fast paced, humorous (REALLY funny!) and action packed, I suggest:
Terry Pratchett - Guards, Guards
- Men at Arms
-Night Watch
-Going postal
There's one problem, though... they're about as far away from sexy as it ever gets :-P
