I see someone else mentioned spiders. We have had them crawl into a sensor and straddle the contacts setting off the alarm. The little blighters can cause quite a problem.
The one we had cleared a nursing home of 200 residents, closed every fire door, set off the alarms and got 3 fire engines on the doorstep all in space of 7 minutes.

Get it checked out by your alarm company, mine kept going off and it was a spider in the garage that was running riot with his webs.Must admit I had a good laugh but the neighbours did'nt.The sensor was adjusted and so far no more problems.

If your alarm system has zone panels it would show the zone thats triggering the alarm, if it hasn't got zones the most likely cause is spiders or moths etc. but check as best you can all the wires in case there is wear or damage.

Sounds like the electronic circuits are unstable. The only thing you can do is have the unit checked by a competent technician. You need to know it the faulty circuit is "normally open" or "normally closed". If you have a magnetic system, weak magnets can cause some problems. Pressure units can be too sensitive. Etc. Your question, and its answer(s) are so big that you really need help, if you are not very gifted as a "hobby electrician". JW

check all of your opens maybe there a senors with a bad contact and power/ground. you never said if the alarm system is wireless or wired. if its wireless it could be something elese causing it to go off in the unarmed setting
