I need to get a 17 year old boy a b-day preasent. However he is going into the army so i cant get him any games, CDs ect. Any ideas?

Buy him a shirt that he can wear when he goes out on leave or some similar item of clothing. It will pack well and he will get good use of it.

Well, unless you can get a 17 year old girl ... what
he wants is MONEY.
Sounds impersonal, and probably a little dangerous,
but he's trying to get his groove on, or at least find
out what a groove is.
If not, how about something for his new driving
skills - maps, more time in the family car ... whatever.

A 17 year old is very much enthusiastic. Get him a girl friend to remember for the rest of his life, if you are his mom.

Are they allowed to have iPods? iPods are great. All guys over the age of 5 love them.
Or books. Get him some really good books.

i have no clue if he's in the army get him some food
food and isn't he supposed to be in the arm y at like at age 18 not 17?
if not that then you can get him like a pocket knife

just get him his favorite perfume or whatever, some clothes basket ball shorts a variety of things, trust me he'll appreciate it because my brother just left for the navy about a month ago, and he appreciates it all, no matter how big or small his gifts were.
