I havent had a period since Jan 16-20, it is now March 14th and I still havent gotten it, I took a pregnancy test and it said negative, I have some symptoms, but why would I get a negative result? Is this normal? If Im not pregnant, what is it?

I have regular periods, I have had a previous abortion (could that affect this) in 2005. I have had a yeast infection and thrush but no positive test. Please help.

Thanks

I am 25 and my abortion was for medical reasons only, I have an incompetent cervix and was told I would have a miscarraige anyway, so there was no way around it. Sorry to offend anyone, but I just want some answers.

If I am pregnant, It would be fantastic..Thanks for all the great answers :)

Usually if you are young your periods are very susceptible to you being stressed out. The more worrying you do, the longer your period will take to come. The symptoms of pregnancy are extreme breast tenderness, and perhaps nausea or vomiting. But the symptoms of your period are a little breast tenderness and maybe some bloating. If your test came out negative you are 99% not pregnant. But just take another one to make sure. If your period does not happen by the end of this month (march) then go to the doctor because perhaps something else may be wrong. And if the abortion was over a year ago, that would probably not be the reason.

The best route to take is to go see a doctor as soon as possible. Yeast infections can sometimes mess up your cycle, but this seems like it has been too long. I am not sure why, but those at home pregnancy tests don't work with some people. My friend has had two false negatives on those things.

Also, are you under any stress in particular lately?? Stress highly plays a factor in your menstrual cycle. Sometimes even the stress of "what if I am pregnant?" will make your period late. An odd thing, I know, but it happens.

So please, go see your doctor ASAP and then you can either plan what you're going to do next, or relax and finally know the truth!

If you have not had a period since Jan. you are pregnant! I just had the same thing. I did not have a period since jan and my tests kept saying negative. I took another yesterday and it came out positive so i went to the clinic to confirm it and its true. So go to the doctor or free clinic and get a test done.

You may have what is called a false negative result. Basically, if you ARE pregnant, it may meen that there is not enough of the 'pregnancy' hormone in your system yet to obtain a 'true' result.

Maybe do another test or get your GP to do a blood test.

Go to your doctor for a blood test. The hpt relies on a buildup of certain hormones in your urine and in some women this just doesn't work. Good luck.

The best thing to do right now would be to call your doctor and make an appointment. It could be anyone of a million reasons why you are late.

Best of luck to you!

Doens't mean you are def. pregnant but I would go and get a blood test to be sure. If you had an abortion you are also more prone to miscarriages.

I doubt you are pregnant, but you never know. Get a physical, there is a reason that you are not having a regular period.

Go to your Dr. and have them do a blood test! If you're stressed or too thin, you can miss your period. Either way you should see your Dr.!

Don't listen to any CRAZY pro-lifers, it is your body and the decision to have an abortion is YOUR choice!
