I am 18 weeks pregnant, starting to grow but not enough to justify maternity wear, is it a bad thing to keep wearing my ordinary jeans even tho they are getting tight??

I wore normal - hipster - jeans throughout most of my pregnancy. You'll be more comfortable if you can undo the top button and hide the gap with a belt, but you'd have to wear something *really* constricting to hurt the baby - women used to wear corsets while pregnant!!

Well I dont think its bad if the pants arent that tight. If your starting to grow then try buying stretchy, cotton, tights or sweats. Im about 18 weeks too and my stomach isnt even noticable but i am bloaded down there, so my jeans BOTHER when I sit cuz they feel super tight, so I dont wear jeans anymore. So if there really tight and uncomfortable, then dont wear them. And just for safety if they are comfortable, try not to wear them much.

Are you kidding? Don't wear ANYTHING tight around your belly! If your jeans are getting tight them it's time to go to get maternity jeans! They have super cute ones at the Gap and Motherhood Maternity and I suggest you go look at them, try them on and buy a pair or two. You're over 4 months pregnant dear, get some maternity pants and stop trying to wear your regular clothes.

You need to be as comfortable as possible. I wouldn't where them I am 18 weeks and wearing maternity clothes. Not really because I have to they are just way more comfortable. The funny thing is that people notice I am pregnant when I where them and when I where my regular clothes I just look fat. Good luck to you and take every measure you can to stay comfortable.

I am just a couple of weeks ahead of you and I was still wearing my regular pants and people were shocked..... One suggestion that worked for me was to use a ponytail holder or rubber band to go around the button, through the hole and around the button again. It will give just a little more room in your regular pants. Then just a few days ago my belly is obviously showing over night! =-) For me it's exciting. If you are really concerned about harming the baby, just check with your doctor or a nurse in the office. Congrats.

Get a rubber band and loop it through the button hole and over the button. (I also thread it through the top part of the zipper.) You will be able to extend the use of jeans a little longer this way. If you wear a longer shirt no one will be able to tell. Hope that helps. Been there, doing it again. Just my two cents.

Wear whatever you find comfy. That was a tough time for me too, you're in the inbetween stage. I broke down and bought a pair of maternity pants (one pair comes in two sizes), so if you're regularly a 10, then you buy maternity pants that are a (10-12).

I did the same thing. I was able to wear my regular jeans until I was nearly 7 months pregnant. They sell button extensions or try the belly band. You can get it at babystyle.com

It won't hurt the baby is that's what you're asking...why don't you find some early maternity clothes or wear something that stretches a bit?
