Liberals have a blind spot when it comes to islam. This is because they are infected with the suicidal virus of political correctness. Those infected can only see evil coming from white or Jewish males. It never occurs to them that the brown skined non Christians of the world could hate them. After all the entire life of a liberal is dedicated to showing their tolerance to those who are different. Those people who they believe have suffered from contact with western culture. The liberal actually believes that if we could just have a chat with these hate filled killers there would be some consensus we could reach, that perhaps if we modify our own behavior these savages would if not love us just leave us alone. Liberals who have little experience with or knowledge of religion do not understand that the fanatic can not be persuaded through reason. How can a liberal who thinks they are superior in every way to those of us who see the danger possibly consider themselves to be infidels. Liberals have spent a life time denieing the truth that sits in front of them, why should they act any differently in this war of cultures

For all those posters who thin the threat is only because of Bush, please do some research. It is the whole core of what we are that they are against. To think in 08 that with a Democrat in office it will all go away is a fantasy.
Islamic fundamentalism's push for Sharia and an Islamic State has come into conflict with conceptions of the secular, democratic state, such as the internationally supported Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This conflict centers on following issues:
rejection of the equality of men and women (i.e. Men and Women have different roles in the society but as humans both are equal)
rejection of the separation of church and state;
rejection of some of the religious rights, such as the right of Muslims to leave the religion, while the right to be a non-Muslim in Muslim lands is still allowed.
overdue intrusion upon people's rights using the religious police
Rejection of the protection of the rights of non-Muslims. They want to have all countries follow Islamic law, whether they want to or not. Those unwilling to convert should be killed, according to their beliefs.
As a result of this sharp conflict, fundamentalist Islam is incompatible with modern liberal democratic states.

While you might gain more acceptance if you didn't say "libs", I do agree with you. Those on the left don't get it, and they are determined not to get it; that being said, I don't think Iraq has any place in a so called "War Against Terrorism" anyway. Until we unseated Saddam, THERE WAS NO TERRORISM THERE. We need to concentrate on finding bin Laden and pulling his intestines out through his nose.

No they don't. That is absolute nonsense. Islamists do NOT hate you for your freedom. They hate you for your imperialism, the fact that you deny freedom to others, the fact that you bomb countries and kill civillians for political ideology or money, the fact that you prop up tyrannical dictatorships like Saudi Arabia.
The idea that they hate you because you are 'free' and they are not is patently ridiculous.

All you are doing is making gross generalizations based on the actions of the extreme. Every group has their own radicals, and they do not represent the views of the majority.
BTW, followers of Islam are Muslims, not "Islamists"

it style of feels to me like you've had some exceedingly undesirable memories with Christians attempting to witness to you. i don't know you in my view, in spite of the undeniable fact that it truly makes me unhappy that you imagine that each one human beings are searching ahead to you going to hell. each each now and then we do know that we are able to not convince you, yet we ought to assert that we tried. and that i in my view would not want to work out everyone bypass to hell if i might want to save it from going on. basically because we assume of it received't artwork does no longer recommend that our tries are insincere. there's a verse in the Bible that announces that one individual sows, one waters, yet God gives you the upward thrust. basically that signifies that signifies that a lot of human beings play a section in a unmarried individual coming to Christ. all of us know that in spite of in case you do not basically immediately develop right into a Christian, what we suggested had an outcome and and a purpose. i am hoping that in case you do not realize this now, you'll in the destiny, and that you're going to fulfill a Christian that certainly cares about you.

Because they don't "hate us for our freedom" they hate us because we bend over backwards to accomodate and defend Israel no mater what it does while condemning Arab states for similar actions. If the US would deal fairly with Palestinians seeking an independent state free from the whims of Israel and if the US would get serious about stopping Israeli aggression against its neighbors there would be a drop in terrorism against the US.

Why are you so afraid of them? They are not going to invade us. If Bush would actually secure out borders, they would be a nonissue. Instead we keep trying to push democracy down their throat when they don't want it (hey I don't understand that).

they hate Israel and we are Israel's biggest supporter - that is the main thing. that and the fact that we are "infidels" and they don't like us trampling about in their region and meddling with their affairs - political, financial, religious, or social.
