I was just talking about that last night! Ticks ya off,I mean,it's one thing when someone truly needs it,or uses it properly,,but when you go in the store, your in line and in front of you is this woman buying all this crap, and like you said, the poor kids are in rags, dirty, and to top it all off, after she pays with "food stamps"(bags and bags of food),we purchase our things, walk out and she is still loading all the crap in her BRAND NEW SUV?

that is a good reason why i hate how some people pay good tax money for people to be lazy as all hell and get everything for free. especially junk food like that. and that is also why there is an over abundance of overweight kids and family members in this country. until there is someway to regulate who and what the money goes to from the government there is nothing you can do other than stare and be disgusted. i think that mother is not teaching her kids the right lessons in life. she might also need some counseling or something. but unless someone helps her out to find those resources she is going to continue to do what she does. so the moral to the story is: life is unfair to everyone but if you don't like seeing something like this happen, then do something about it. like getting into voting for one... that's just my opinion. but i agree hun that is wrong and disturbing... so whatcha gonna do?

The poor lady probably has no idea of what good nutrition is. She is probably only doing what she saw her mother do, and the only thing she knows how to do. She was probably not well educated and has no clue what she is doing to her and her children's health. I wish there were a way we could educate these people on nutrition when they signed up for food stamps, or that there could be a limit set on how much non-nutritional food could be bought.

And thats what I mean by a "welfare case" We go out and work all day long, well most of us, I know my brothers go out in the rain and do excavating and crap for more than 12 hours. so these welfare cases can go to the store get junk food for free, not take baths so they don't pay for water and all this crap. While my brother has NO support from the government and pays his bills/food/clothing and whatnot all by himself. There is too many abusing the system of welfare. Get off there fat arses and get a damn job!

Maybe she is very poor. That is why she had food stamps. Or maybe she lives on the side of the street and digs in the garbage for some food and clothe. You know what they say, A persons trash is another persons treasure.

Everything is wrong with that picture. There needs to be a program in place that gets these people get on the right track, that shows them how to manage and save their money and how to develop skills for a career. Not a program that just hands them money. It is really sad when you think about it, her kids might wind up just like her.

and the mere thought of selling those food stamps for cash then hanging out on the corner or in a bar is irritating

and the sad thing is, her children will probably grow and continue the cycle, perpetuating the behaviour. Tough call as to how to tackle it. School maybe the answer,

the saddest part is that she probably has no idea that shes doing the wrong thing. her poor kids have probably never owned a toothbrush. its one thing to get a couple of treats but another to only get them... she wouldnt even know how to cook real food
