Americans have become so ridiculous about smoking. Whenever some sterile soccer dad gives me a stare when I am outdoors and smoking, I GO OFF ON HIM. I can see it now, I will be in a fight soon because I will not tolerate sterile soccer dads trying to control my freedoms outdoors, I will fight anybody that tries to.

If someone smells it they are breathing it and it is harmful, even outdoors. You are an inconsiderate drug addict. Your smoking is harming and killing others.
In New York state, it is illegal to smoke on school property. Whether or not this is true where you live, you are a jerk who has no consideration for others. Just look at what you said. You want to fight people just for looking at you the wrong way. You are a very violent and dangerous person, and you belong in prison where you can't harm anyone else (with your fists or your deadly smoke). Hopefully the prisons where you live don't allow smoking.
As much as I am in favor of national health insurance, I hope you don't ask taxpayers like me to pay for your medical care in 20 years when you are dying of lung cancer, some other type of cancer, or heart disease. Until that time comes, I hope one of those soccer dads beats the crap out of you - you deserve it.

Some of us have allergies that make us very uncomfortable for up to an hour even just walking past a bunch of smokers huddled by the door to the building we need to enter. Can't you move a few feet away?
I am against smoking both because of my very severe allergy and because I watched my beloved father die of emphysema over a period of about a decade. He went from a vibrant, vigorous man to a pathetic shadow of his former self. He'd cough until he threw up, and then a couple of minutes later he'd start coughing again. I used to lie awake at night when I was in high school, listening to the cough/barf cycle, afraid that he was going to die right then. He died when I was in college. He never got to know his grandchildren. I still miss him.
PS If they are soccer dads, they can't be sterile or they wouldn't be dads at all!

That is a very good question. I can understand not wanting our waitresses to get second hand smoke, but outside?! That's just stupid. No one dies from second hand smoke they got outdoors. It's the same as all the people who are so anti-gun. The most armed cities in our country have the least amount of violent crime. Why? Because the criminals know everyone's got a conceal & carry permit. Yet all these sheeple are trying to outlaw guns, saying children this and that... more children die in swimming pools every summer than gun accidents. Should we outlaw swimming pools next?
I have a better idea, let's outlaw ignorance. I think if someone wants to smoke despite the risks to their health, that is their choice. It's their lungs, let them smoke. I smoke, I know it's bad for me, but it's MY CHOICE because they're MY LUNGS. I'll do whatever I want with them. I'll quit smoking when I'm good and ready. My smoking outside of a restaurant is not going to give you cancer from second hand smoke.
People need to stop believing everything they hear, and try reading a book or something. Look at statistics and real FACTS, not I heard such and such was soooo bad for you so we should outlaw it. If people would just GET A LIFE maybe they could stop worrying so much about how everyone else lives their lives. Worry about your own lungs. If you see a bunch of people standing outside smoking and you don't want to inhale the smoke, then don't walk up to them. Maybe you guys are too busy being in everyone else's business to notice, but most smokers don't go out of their way to blow smoke in your face, they are considerate and blow smoke away from people's faces. If a smoker is blowing smoke at you, take a hint and get your NOSE out of their business where it doesn't belong. Try some common sense.

why might I care if he smokes? that has no influence on his administration. I actually have a buddy who grew up in a house the place numerous individuals smoked indoors, like the area you defined, and now his lungs are quite tousled because of the fact of it. it rather is made his lungs overly soft to aspects being interior the air, so which you will no longer say that it has no result. It merely had no result on YOU. it rather is in basic terms a case-by way of-case foundation. You forget that there are people who've hypersensitive reactions to cigarette smoke, rather those with bronchial asthma and different respiratory situations. exposure to smoke in public places could lead on them to have a extreme reaction, and can actual endanger their existence in the event that they are not arranged for it. i do no longer understand the place you have obtained this view of the reason at the back of banning human beings who smoke from public places. i think of that individuals could desire to have the skill to smoke in places like bars, in view that kind of is going with the territory. yet human beings should not be smoking in front of libraries and museums, in my view. It turns into much greater significant to cut back the smoke point once you talk how many infants are coming up bronchial asthma at youthful a while those previous ten years. Having numerous childrens with respiratory issues isn't a good ingredient to mixture public smoking with.
