Fort Knox is a United States Army post and census-designated place in Kentucky south of Louisville and north of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. It is also the Us Depository. Fort Knox is also is where the US Keeps all the gold reserves which back the value of it's money.
This is where the term "locked up tighter than Fort Knox" comes from. It is considered one of the most secure places on earth.
(Oddly, In the movie GOLDFINGER, James Bond must keep the evil mastermind Auric Goldfinger from not only breaking into the Gold Reserves, but from blowing all the gold up using a nuclear device. Goldfinger DOES, indeed, get to the gold, but Bond stops the bomb from going off.)
