bug yes.....i live right next to a 55 and older city....and sometimes the old folks drive me crazy...old folks are either super nice or super cranky there is no in between...and don't get me started on their driving habits...OMG

No, I am beginning to understand the pride issue somewhat. Although some could show their appreciation in a nicer manner, most do appreciate a kind gesture.

Not any more. I do that on a daily basis for my mother-in-law, and she is always ungrateful, so I'm used to it, and don't expect any thing different....

no they have a hard time adjusting to their inabilities due to their age....and I'm sure thats where part of the seeming "ungratefulness" comes from......but trust me I had to do hairstyling and washing for elderly women ...I despised them ,until I realized that they have a hard time giving up their independece and abilities to do the things they normally did....

Most are pretty grateful but that occasional one really makes me mad. They act as if I owed them something and that makes me feel bad. I just look at it as an unhappy old person.
