It depends on how often and severe these thoughts are. Everyone has bad thoughts from time but some people get obsessive compulsive and their thoughts can become all consuming and very upsetting to them. If this sounds like you then I suggest that you see a psychotherapist. They have a new treatment specifically for ocd sufferers which is very quick and effective.

Acknowledge that you are having said thoughts and tell your self that they are just thoughts, then let it go.

It works for me.
