Refined. Most of it is OK, but there are sections that could be written better.
Application of the law is another thing.
Last, remember "We are a nation of laws; poorly written and selectively enforced" (Frank Zappa)

It doesn't make sense to sacrifice our most sacred principles in a supposed war to protect them. We are learning more and more each day about what the Patriot Act allows. Through your cell phone carrier, the government can get records as to where you were at any point in time. For those of you who do not remember recent history, I would suggest that you study the McCarthy hearings. Look at political commercials to see how seemingly simple things can be twisted to look evil.

We cannot just sit around and say "Well, I don't do anything wrong so I don't have anything to worry about." There are several cases of individuals who have done nothing wrong being detained for months or even years under the Patriot Act. Of course, if it isn't you then who cares, right?

Yes, I know about the Patriot Act and if it saves even one life by thwarting or preventing another attack, it needs to stay! We are a war and during wartime we need to concede some privileges and rights! I have nothing to hide, so I really don't care if the government knows what toppings I enjoy on my pizza. Seems to me that the only people who really oppose the Patriot Act may have something to hide....so maybe the Patriot Act isn't as bad as many try to make us believe!

Repealed. Law enforcement already had the tools needed to stop a terrorist attack. The Patriot Act just gives the government the legal authority to take away the rights granted to us under the Bill of Rights.

Yes, lets give our enemies in America the upper hand by repealing the Patriot act.

Stay as it is.
You always hear these weepy eyed liberals crying about how the Patriot Act infringes upon our civil liberties, but then when asked to cite specific examples, they tend to suffer from some form of sudden amnesia.

Granted the Patriot Act isn't perfect, but if you haven't done anything, you have nothing to worry about.

Definitely repealed. I see no way where it can be reformed and still give us complete freedom. I don't appreciate when my government says we have freedom, but then spies on and distrusts its citizens. It's total hypocrisy.
