The Banana Splits show, with the pirate thingy in the middle in black and white, while the furry banana bears rode around in six wheel golf carts that could float, and there was a cartoon thingy in it too.

HR Puffinstuff was a geat show for the memories, because of the innuendo, the little magic flute imploring whathisface to constantly blow him, and the witch they stole right out of the Wizard of Oz.

Also, Simba the white lion, Speedracer, Marine Boy, Astro Boy and a black and white samaurai show, where the characters floated up into the trees backwards and walked in a sideways trot, I forget the name.

Gilligan's Island, Bewitched ( mainly for the theme), The Flintstones and the Jetsons. I know that they are all on somewhere on Foxtel, but back when I was a kid, they were all new shows, so they had a certain magic to them. I think though, in retrospect, that the sixties was a lot more exploratory as far as television was concerned. Producers and writers couldn't use reality as a backdrop because of existing censorship laws, so they got around them by doing wacky shows with subtle innuendoes. Gilligan's Island wouldn't sell today, so we get stuck with rubbish shows that try and shock us more and more. I miss Mayberry most of all.

And the movies---they were good , clean movies....They were very entertaining..Now all you get is garbage....

Yes. Fortunately a lot of those shows are coming out on DVD now, so we can revisit them anytime we want. The only problem is that some of them have not stood the test of time. I was a fan of Mork & Mindy. Watching those old episodes while still funny, have not held up well over the years.

You bet! They don't make cartoons like the use to. They make them, like babyish today. I like the cartoons that i use to watch, like the shirt tales, the smurfs, the super friends, and the amazing spider man and friends. Those where some of the good cartoons they use to make during the 80's. They also had a cartoon of Fonzie and the happy days gang. The cartoon had girl from the future and her name was cup cake. Fonzie also had a dog. I forgot what the dog's name was.Now their was also He-man and Sh-era. Boy! i could not wait to get home from school to watch them. They where my favorite of all time.

absolutely i miss the cartoons and programs of my day.

Fraggle Rock
Inspector Gaget (the cartoon)
Looney Toons

And I could go on and on and on....

The cartoons and shows these days, yuck, The Piniata show on fox come on thats silly. Code Name Kids next Door, Recess, I could go on here too. My neices and nephews watch this junk! They lack interesting stuff. Some of these cartoons now a days are just in my mind crap, they lack imagination and frankly my kids probably won't watch them knowing my boys, too active for TV.
