From the late '70s to early '90s used to the best time that people wore spandex until the mid-90's. I need to know what's going on with these changes. I really miss them nowadays.

In the summer, in Chicago, I still see people wearing spandex.

Xibalba, I agree with you completely!!! We're wearing spandex leggings here in California like it's required uniform. I’ve got a couple of pairs to wear under minis or by themselves with boots.
And both women and men wear spandex shorts in the gym regularly.
As to why it became popular for many to make fun of spandex it when everyone used to wear it- that's just the way fads work.
The leaving bell-bottom workout pants fad is bound to get some good laughs soon enough.

A lot of people seem mixed on this. Some hate it, some love it, some are just going to like whatever fad is stuffed down their throat (i.e. the looser bell-bottom workout pants)
As long as you're at least moderately in shape- wear whatever you want.
It looks like spandex tights are popular for women all over now.

Well, I would guess the main reason that not too many people wear spandex anymore is because of their size. Haven't you noticed that most of the population is sadly overweight ? I know I wouldn't be caught dead in spandex anymore. Seriously !

Thank God that era is gone, although some people don't know it, and it's usually those who shouldn't be wearing spandex in the first place!

Actually, spandex leggings were trendy last year and lots of girls were wearing them under long tops and dresses. Then everyone remembered that they're really not appropriate anywhere except the gym and off they went again.

what happened is spandex when out of style and rightfully. I was really tired of seeing 500 lbs men and women wearing stretchy pant revealing all of their dips and dents. Ohhh... thank goodness for times changing.
now a days we do see leggings and capris comming back but they are only cool to wear w/ dresses, tunics, minu skirts hopefully thing won't get out of hand again:-)

They dissappeared when we all gained weight! :P
Not totally sure. I still wear them under short skirts ((leggings)) and alot of girls still were them under the summer dresses in the winter time.. They are pretty much gone except for in a few styles.

My aunt wears Spanx spandex.tummy conserving in issue-a-ma-jigs. Her abdomen seems a lot more beneficial useful below her clothing at the same time as she wears them, yet my dad and his brother always make exciting of her for donning them.
