I prefer the taste of fresh, but in "real life" I prepare the instant. I simply dont have the time to make the real thing during the week.

Fresh mashed potatoes are much better than instant

I prefer homemade mash potatoes, but I very seldom fix them. I usually use Betty Crocker instant or Idaho. Anyhow the way that I doctor them up they taste pretty close to the real thing.
