Why don't you have anyone to throw you a shower? Has no one offered? I'm not sure how far along you are - but if you're not that far yet I would wait and see if someone will throw one for you. Maybe they just haven't brought it up yet. If no one does, what I would do is buy what you need to have when you first bring the baby home. Then once you have the baby - maybe a week or two later have a "meet the baby party" everyone will bring gifts to that. I think that would be better than you having your own shower. You could also ask your mom or mom-in-law, aunt, sister etc to throw one for you.

Oh no! I'm so sorry! It sounds like you are a very giving person, throwing everyone else's showers but no one will throw one for you- how terrible!
If it is going to cost that much to throw your shower then I would just leave it alone and people will still buy you stuff when the baby is born. I would still complete a registry and let people know about it, though.

Recruite the women whose shower's you've helped with to help you throw your shower -- it's only fair. You don't need to spend $300! Keep the guest list small and make your own food like BBQ chicken or pasta salad. Simple, cheap foods. You can even make your own cake or cookies instead of buying them. If you really don't have anyone who will help, I doubt you have a long guest list of people to invite, so maybe just have a small get together -- rent some movies and have popcorn and snacks instead of a whole meal. That would be even more cost effective and you should still get some nice gifts. Good luck ;)

No, don't do that. I know the idea is tempting, but I'm sure since you do lots of things for other people you'll be surprised and someone will throw you a shower. Just spend that money on baby stuff.

I think that you should not even waste your time throwing a baby shower to entertain your friends it will probably make you seem desperate If your friends wont do the same as you did for them forget them take your 300 dollars and spend on your baby and take yourself out to eat.

If you've thrown everyone a baby shower, and no one is throwing one for you, it's time to reevaluate your friendship with those people.
Don't throw yourself a shower, just spend that money on the baby.

I agree that it seems like poor etiquette to throw a baby shower for yourself. It would seem like you're asking for gifts and people might be offended by that. For those people that are planning on buying you a gift they will do it whether or not you have a shower and for those who didn't intend to buy a gift it could come across as pushy. You can make a baby gift registry and if someone asks tell them where you're registered. Best of luck.

Have you asked your friends if they will throw you a shower? Honestly, if you've thrown them showers, maybe they just need a kick in the rear to make them see that it's their turn. I would just call one of them up and ask, point blank, if they are throwing you a shower. It may be a little forward but, gosh, if you don't ask, you'll never get one.
If you actually want to throw your own shower, though, do it. I love to be the center of attention so I'd go for it.

Try hinting to someone that you really want a shower. Make sure it is someone who you think will do a good job!
It probably would be better to have a shower because its a lot of fun. Way more fun that just bying 300 bucks worth of clothes.

If you want a baby shower then I think you should throw yourself one. A friend of mine threw her own bridal shower...WHO CARES! People WILL come and honestly, if they have something to say then they should have thrown the shower for you.
