Only if they lower the drinking age. If you're old enough to drive, you should be old enough to drive to a liquor store

That really depends on the maturity level of each person at 16. Some kids are responsible and show respect for the laws and other drivers, they should be able to drive. The reckless ones who don't pay attention and think they are the only ones on the road...nope...hold off till they are older and can be more responsible.

No, because the majority of them are too immature at that age. If they weren't, there wouldn't need to be "special(insurance)rates for young drivers", as I saw one insurance company offer in an advertisement Also, my dad and stepmom used to live in the Milwaukee area, which at legal speeds, is 90 minutes away from the Chicago area. When we went to see them, we made the trip in 45.(at this time, my brother was a teenager, and he was the one driving).

At 16 most teenagers are immature and they have it in their minds that driving a vehicle is a "right" and not a privilege. Too many car accidents happen either because a driver was impaired or very young. We need to look at our laws and change them - to 21!

Absolutely and they should be allowed to vote at 16 too.

We need to stop treating our young adults like small children and place more responsiblity in them. The drinking age should also be lowered back down to 18.

Its an insult to these teenagers who often times with all the schooling are more educated than many adults, and they have no ability to express themselves even though they are a major part of the population.

And for those that think i'm crazy, would a group of 16 and 17 year olds really change politics? i doubt it, most wouldn't vote, but those that do would definately feel empowered and more engaged in our society.

no i dont think they should. as much as teenagers want to drive at 16 years old and it sucks if they had to wait longer but.............. there has been so many accidents with young teens there has been tons ! and even when they have their friends in the car so many of teenagers die every year from careless driving or drinking and driving. i bvelieve that kids arent responsible enough just yet and they need to know the values of being safe.

I'm 14 but I do admit there are crazy drivers older than me but lack judgement. I'm hoping they don't legislate it before I get mine cause I'm responsible unlike everyone else my age and I don't think that other 16 year old's mistakes from the past should be taken out on us younger people who never did anything wrong and never got a chance to even make the mistakes they made.

NO. At that age they are still to distracted and unknowledgable to make all of the split second decisions that come with driving.

Yes I do. No matter what age you get to after that, it doesn't mean the person will be a good driver. You can be the best driver in the world and have some moron slam into you because they were careless.
