Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov (Russian: Родион Романович Раскольников) is the fictional protagonist of Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky.
The name Raskolnikov comes from the Russian raskolnik meaning "schismatic".

He is the main character in "Crime and Punishment". I read it several years ago but I think -

He murders and old woman for her money. He feels guilt which eventually drives him to confess although there is no evidence against him.
