Social Disorganization Theory, a sociological theory, posits that delinquency is a product of the social forces existing in inner-city, low-income areas. A juvenile, living in a poverty stricken neighborhood, would lack proper schooling and extra-curricular activities and put them at risk in joining gangs. (Siegel, 2003) (Juvenile Delinquency, 8th Edition) (pg.111).
Social Disorganization is related to a long list of collateral social problems, residential instability, family disruption, and ethnic/racial conflict. The risk of teenagers, living in decaying neighborhoods, joining gangs and participating in stealing and breaking into houses is very high, because they may participate as a means of survival.

easy, marxism and gramsci
the bourgoise still own the means to production and are still, unconsciously, exploiting the proleteriat.
the 'middle-classes' are a clear example of class contradiction which is discussed in marxism., i.e, they are still being exploited but have taken on the role, and value beliefs, of the exploiting bourgoise.
however, when marx identified the realisation of this exploitation by the proleteriat and the inevitable revolution leading to communism, there haven't been the circumstances within the UK to lead to this.
this was brought up by Gramsci. he said that Marx's idea were a good framework in understanding societal inequality.
fo gramsci, the framework was there, he lived in italy. he suggests that the revolution didn't come because people had had their consciousness stolen from them. this was done by, those being in power, seemin to take on the needs of the other classes and groups. e.g, a political party wants to go to war, they sell the idea to the public in such a way that they think they want to go to war, e.g., iraq.
think about the 'weapons of mass destruction' and the 'war on terror'. for governments, war is a cash machine, they can't sell it as that so, as i said, they make the public demand the ideas of the party in power.
