If she had a miscarriage, yes it would still come back positive, however what you described doesnt sound at all like a miscarriage. Good luck!

It is always possible that a HPT could come back positive even though you have had a miscarriage. The levels of hCG don't immediately drop below the ability of being detected just because you have a miscarriage.

However, it is possible to "spot" throughout your pregnancy... my mom spotted with me, until almost 6 months pregnant (when it was time for her period). I am perfectly healthy - so as hard as it sounds, wait for the results of the blood work!

Good Luck!

Yes because of the hcg levels. Most women can expect their levels to return to a non-pregnant range about 4 - 6 weeks after a pregnancy loss has occurred. This can differentiate by how the loss occurred (spontaneous miscarriage, D & C procedure, abortion, natural delivery) and how high the levels were at the time of the loss. Health care providers usually will continue to test hCG levels after a pregnancy loss to ensure they return back to <5.0

a home pregnancy test will show positive until her HCG get down to 5
so wait for the blood test result as hard as it is be patient
and also just because she is spotting that does not mean she has miscarriage nor she will
I hope that she is not and the blood test will bring some good news
Goodluck

Yes it would still show but just having some spotting does not sound like a miscarriage. She should tell her doctor that she has had spotting though.

it would likely still read positive, it can take several weeks for the hormones to get back to normal.
