AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!

How many times have I tried to get this point across. Anyone who thinks like that has such a bad case of national narcissicism that they have completely lost touch with reality!

It isn't arrogant at all. American politics affects much, if not most, of the rest of the world so naturally people care. I also care about the election results of other countries, such as the upcoming elections in France. No one country, not even Switzerland, operates in isolation so elections matter even to those on the outside.

Because the world DOES care. Please read the questions and answers posted daily by people outside our borders who express an interest in and an opinion of US politics. Whether or not you like it, we are the most important nation on the face of the earth when it comes to how our internal politics affect people elsewhere.

Why do you suppose that pygmies in the Kalahari know who the US president is, yet very few outside of Botswana (for example) have any clue who the Botswanan president might be?

Well, I'm from 'the world' and I care. I care because GOP victories mean global financial slumps, more wars, more death, and more terrorism, which will be against American allies as well as the USA itself.

America is still the most powerful nation on earth, and its elections have a profound effect on us in the rest of the world..

It isn't arrogance, it's just the way it is. The entire world may not care who wins our election but our enemies most certainly do. I remember Bin Laden's tape that showed up right before the last presidential election where he promised terror attacks in any state that voted to re-elect Bush? Obviously our terrorist enemies want the Democrats in power because they are less likely to pursue the terrorist wherever they are.

It is not arrogance it is a fact. America is the worlds lone super power thus the direction our country takes politically affects the entire world. How could you not know this?

Our economy affects every country on earth so the party that controls our economic policy is important to the rest of the world.

Our military is by far the strongest and most advanced so the rest of the world cares who is in control of it.

The US lives in a bubble. A self important bubble. They have no knowledge of other countries...and no interest. They have no understanding of history and historical trends. They see themselves as the all important, and always will be. No matter...the rest of the world sees the reality of the situation, and could truly care less.
