i have a customer who has come into my little store many times. i have cashed there paycheck a few times for them although i am not in that business.. the last paycheck bounced and i want to go after the company who issued it, however i understand i can not do this--i have to go after the person who cashed it--is this true--what else can i do? in connecticut

You need to return the cheque to the person who asked you to cash for him/her. You have no rights to go after the issuance.

i might think of the employer whom wrote/issued the verify. they are able to no longer carry you in charge for a verify you had no theory might bounce. while the employer would have many times happening or have been negligent in accounting for their money.
