I have laughed at stupid things like sitting reading a book or magazine and one word will remind me of a song and I'll start singing that song out loud. Then I start laughing after I realize that I'm no longer reading and I'm singing instead and i forget why I started singing all of a sudden. Or my son and I will just be talking about anything and one word will start me talking about something all together different but it leads me to saying a Mother Goose's nursery rhyme or a famous saying from a famous movie. My son looks at me strangely and I start to laugh. Then he laughs.

I have had experienced a few times where I'd be laughing at a movie or a funny video and can't stop laughing and I laugh harder because I can't stop laughing. Then my son gets annoyed because I snort when I laugh loud and he can't hear the TV. And that makes me laugh louder and harder. I'll start crying. I've laughed for10-15 minutes sometimes. My ribs will literally hurt. It's really hard to stop. And as I am calming down, I start to think about why I was laughing so hard at nothing and it makes me laugh again. I think this has happened about 6 times in my life. My entire body hurts. Head, throat, mouth, ribs, stomach hurt.

You must have been thinking funny thoughts at the time. If not, you must be feeling very, very happy about life. It's good and healthy to laugh. However, I must state here the possibility that you may have some medical condition there. I would advise that you consult your doctor with this. It could be a sign of some psychological disorder, albeit a mild one.

The link below gives more light to this. Please scroll down to "Abnormal Laughter:"

Well, if you're not stoned :o) maybe you're just naturally a happy person who can see humor in anything. That'd be gr8!
Sometimes people laugh like that when they're really stressed out.
Have you always had this "problem" or did it just start recently?
Are you able to control it when you are somewhere other than home?
Do you notice only certain times or places when it happens?

Assuming your not high (or getting a contact high from the roomy), could just be hormones. However, are you truly laughing at nothing, or are you just THINKING internally about something funny? Maybe something totally neutral reminds you of a funny experience.

It's just a build-up of emotions and you use them by laughing. You are fortunate. Some people bite their nails or cry!!

if you arent mad about anything and just being reflective, then maybe you're in a good mood and it bubbles out?

were you like that before you moved in with your roommate? i mean, if its just who you are, then your family & friends would know about that trait and if no one else had a problem or made you uncomfortable with it before you moved in with your roommate, then it would really be her problem and not yours...
