I have just been accepted by my dream school which is the University of Michigan to their engineering program. I would like to know what kind of college atmosphere to expect in terms of social life, academics, and athletic events?

You will have lots of distractions on a big campus ( Indiana U. grad here), from other students wanting to hang out to going to the ball games to dating, but the key things for all college students

a) budget your time wisely
b) get enough sleep so as not be brain dead or get seriously ill

there is plenty of time to enjoy all campus life has to offer IF you use your time wisely. Good luck and congrats.

Relax and enjoy it. Try to experience as much as possible. But the education needs to come first. And be smart. You will be tempted by everything and everyone. I'm not saying lock yourself in the library and hide for 4 years. But use common sense. Have fun, good luck and GO BUCKEYES!!!!

Get used to lots and lots of ugly women.

And if you wanted a good engineering degree in the Midwest, you should have gone to Purdue.
