Herbal remedies play an important role in the natural ways to overcome insomnia. It is proven that herbal remedies contain certain alkaloids, which can trigger the neurotransmitters and hormones, which induce sleep.
However, it is advised to seek the opinion of a physician, before practicing herbal drinks since it may alter the endocrine system of a person, having any serious complaints.
The common herbal remedies include
Hops,
Valerian root,
Passion flower,
Californian Poppy,
Dog wood.
Aromatherapy advocates that a bath in water containing the infusions of the herbs, before sleeping will help to avoid insomnia.

hmm- well try a relaxation CD- take a warm bath before bed, make sure your bedroom isnt too hot or too cold. Also try staying up a little later- if you go to bed at 10:00 but can't go to sleep until midnight, the next night stay up until midnight and then go to bed.

Exercise usually helps. You need more during the day but a walk in the fresh air in the evening definitely works. Don't drink any caffeine product after 3:00 p.m. (stays in the body for 7 hours) and stay away from sugars especially chocolate in the evening....a good rule is not to eat after 7:00 p.m.
