Me and my missus are fairly adventurouse in bed and sometimes we like to dress up. This could include me dressing as a woman. (not too often). But when I am out and about in town and I see a transvestite I am very judgemental about them. does this make me a hippocrite? and why?

I think you're confusing Transvestism with drag-culture, Some Random Guy.

It's not wrong to have a prejudice, everybody does. I'm not going to be the preacher of the right and wrong in this instance but I think you have a misguided judgement when it comes to the transvestites you see and how you dress at home.

When in the house, you can be however you like. Its your home, you can do whatever but be open minded that while you enjoy this dressing up as a fetish, others enjoy it in a different light. Criticising those that take those views out into the world should be praised to be who they are, not judged for who they 'might' be.

Well I don't think so completely. There is a big difference between dressing up privately in your house and walking down the street dressed in drag. Maybe you are judge-mental because you are worried what children may ask or that the person themselves maybe a victim of a hate crime or something. I see moral issues there I guess. But you should not think any different of the person. What I'm saying is don't say bad things about transvestites because that's wrong. They do what they do because they want to. But you not sharing their same sense of exhibitionism. Maybe your reason for being judge-mental???

I mean I love dressing up in spandex. Its really fun and I love the way it looks and feels. But when I go out in public I am very modest about my body. I usually never wear spandex out in public. If I saw someone I might make a joke or two. Depends on how good they looked though I guess.

Yes it does make you a bit of a hypocrite. You'll have to ask yourself why you are judgemental about other people. It could be down to ingrained old ways of thinking eg. what you heard your parents say about transvestites when you were younger, or it could be that you feel guilty for dressing as a woman yourself. The way you say "not too often" tells me that you feel some sort of guilt about this. Try to work out why you have a problem with it as I'm sure you don't mean to be judgemental. It is best to be open minded & accepting of all people as long as they aren't doing you any harm.

i think it does make you a little hypocritical.

But let me straightent something out real quick

Transvestite is someone who cross dresses for sexual gratification only ie: you

If you see someone who looks masculine but is dressed as a woman, unless she is masturbating, or a drag queen, she is most likely transgendered or transsexual. Which means that she truely believes that she is a woman. So you are not being judmentle about a transvestite, but rather a transsexual. This is worse in my opinion. Transsexuality is more of a medical condition than a fetish. So unless you are sure she is a drag queen than you are basically discriminating against someone with a medical condition.

I guess it does kinda make you a hypocrite. As for the reason why, you've probably been around a lot of people that stereotype and judge and say negative things about the trans community. Try hanging around some transpeople and getting to know them. Stop yourself whenever you start to judge. Eventually you can break the habit.

Sort of....! I mean you do the same thing but in a different way in private. At the end of the day none of us has the right to judge. Prehapes try being a little more open minded towards others, would you like it if others judged you? especially with out even knowing you!

It makes you a small minded **** I'm afraid. What the big deal with trannies? Good luck to them if that's what makes them happy. One of my best friends is a transexual and since she realised that she wanted to be a woman, she's become so happy and confident where she (or he as she was then) was so miserable and introverted. But I wouldn't worry too much, they are probably looking at you and thinking you're an old frump!!

In bed I'm a submissive slave (not always...:) but I wouldn't dress like one in public. Get the picture....?

Yes it does but maybe you need to be a little more open... go to gay bars and see what they are like who they are and then pass judgement... but be careful because it will come back to you
