You will more than likely wake up because you are SOAKED and your partner will be soaked too. Usually you have cramping and discomfort before your water breaks because the baby is almost in position and pushing on the floor of your uterus. I did have my water break after slamming a car door but my son wasn't born until the following day at 9 pm! Ask your doctor about your concerns and he/she should have answers for you. Every pregnancy is unique so don't compare and don't listen to SCARE stories! Your pregnancy will be unique to you and THIS child.

More than likely your water will not break while you're sleeping. I've heard from the majority of women that the doctor or nurse had to break their water in the hospital or that their water broke in the hospital. I'm sure you'll know if it breaks and you're sleeping. You'll be wet! Just relax and don't let small things worry you. You really need the rest right now because labor and delievery is very exhuasting. Good Luck

You will know. It's alot of water and will definately wake you up. Don't worry too much though. Only 25% of women have their water break before labour pains start. I was in labour for 24 hours before they had to break mine. I was scared about it happening in bed too so I slept on top on plastic drop sheets. I really didn't want to wreck my matress. I also used depends but I'm a little paranoid. It really wasn't necessary. Hope this helps and Good Luck it'll be fine.

You'll probably wake up when your water breaks or because the contractions will most likely get a lot stronger afterwards. Best of luck.

you will wake up. my last one broke at 5:03 in the morning. the wetness must have awakened me. when i opened my eyes it was still squirting out. my water didnt break with either of my other 2. i kept moving trying to get comfy and put two pillows inbetween my legs ans layed side ways. it felt like it was shooting out. than i got up screaming down to my husband who was leaving 4 work. it dripped all as i walked. youll know. believe `me.
