Are you taking prescription iron pills?

Honestly, something more natural will work better. Go to the health food store and ask for *chelated* iron. Get some blackstrap molassas iron caplets. That's what I used.

Also, consider using chlorophyll.

Eat red meat! I have a 6 week old, and I am very anemic always. I had to have a blood transfusion at 6 months my iron was so low. Green leafy vegetables, and red meat is what my doctor told me. I am still on 2 iron pills a day. My labor was easy, don't stress on it. Your baby is getting all it needs from you making you feel drained. Snack! Beef Jerky, nuts, boiled eggs are all sources of protein. Also vitamin C helps your body absorb iron so take your iron pills with orange juice.

I had low iron towards the end. But you need to eat proper meals. I know you're tired and being on your feet is rough, but turkey, salmon, chicken are all things you need. Brocoli with your chicken or turkey for more vitamins and they both have iron in them. Drink more orange juice especially when eating these foods, the citrus helps for you to absorb the iron more.
As far as when you go into labor, you'll want to get that iron up in anticipation to labor you want to conserve your energy. So keep taking your tablets, but you need more protein. Real meals!
