I believe in teaching children about the "real world", before they jump head-first into it.
I'm not saying to terrorize young ones. (nightmares)

There's no definitive age on this subject, because all individuals have a different tolerance level. (parental judgement)

Kids need to know that it's only "Hollywood"...and on the same token, it can and does happen in real life.

In conclusion... "effects on children" is in their teacher's hands.

Viewing violence on TV is only part the equation. It does have some effect, but it is actually things like the child's living environment and other factors that would have more severe negative consequences. I think one should put some limits on TV in general, it gives the mind other outlets.
